Intro

This is a 1971 BMW 2002 project car. Seller is of the age where he can no longer complete the restoration and states all the parts needed to complete the restoration are included. It is not a numbers matching car. New or restored parts are listed below. The exterior shell is bolted to a rotisserie that uses a worm gear box to rotate the chassis with a cordless drill. The chassis locks in place when the rotation stops. The assembly is on 8” swivel casters so it can be moved about. The car is in Texas.

Exterior

The exterior shell is painted in factory Malaga Red and bolted to a rotisserie. The photos show the current condition of the body. Seller notes most of the rust is on the right rear fender and fender liner. Additional notes:

·      New trunk lid

·      Front struts and springs powder coated

·      New Bilstein shocks, new spring pads, and new top thrust bearings.

·      Rebuilt front four piston calipers, new pads included with mounting spring & pins

·      New front wheel bearings and seals, new lug studs (Dorman),

·      Powder coated front sub-assembly, control arm and locating rod with Ireland Engineering Poly Bushings, sway bar poly bushing and new sway bar links with poly bushings.

·      Powder coated rear swing arms with Ireland Engineering ploy bushings.

·      Blasted and painted sector box (Zinc Chromate Primer W/ 2-part urethane paint).

·      New Drag Link and tie rod ends, painted tie rods and clamps, stainless steel brake lines, new stock flex lines with new painted mounting clips and new parking brake cables.

·      Hot dipped galvanized and then power coated rear sub-frame with Ireland Engineering poly mounting bushings. It has powder coated rear swing arms with Ireland Engineering poly bushings.

·      New bearings and seals for rear stub shafts (not installed)

·      New rear brake shoes and new brake drums blasted and painted

·      Rear brake mounting plate and hardware blasted and panted.

·      New half shaft boots (not installed), haft shafts blasted and painted

·      Stub shafts blasted and painted

·      Short neck differential with hanger poly bushings

·      New rear brake cylinders

·      New exhaust pipe, stock muffler and tail pipe

·      Stainless Steel brake lines, new stock flex lines W/ new painted mounting clips

·      New parking brake cables

·      New brake cylinder and reservoir

Interior

The interior is upholstered in brown vinyl with black dashboard and black door trim. It is complete and requires restoration. The car had an aftermarket AC. The compressor and mounting bracket are included but the condenser and hoses are missing.

Mechanicals

Seller states the M10 engine was rebuilt by his son and needs disassembly and inspection.

·      Stock M10 resurfaced cylinder head with complete valve job W/standard camshaft

·      Stock intake manifold and rebuilt carburetor W/air filter housing and new filter

·      New ignition wire set

·      New distributor with points, condenser, rotor and cap

·      Long tube stainless steel manifold with adapter for stock exhaust

·      Resurfaced flywheel, new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing, new bolts

·      New clutch master and slave cylinder W/new hose

·      New motor mounts

·      New starter

·      New gaskets for cylinder head, valve cover, intake and exhaust + many more

·      Stock air cleaner housing with new air filter

·      Standard four speed transmission

·      Ireland Engineering rebuilt driveshaft with new universal joints, new rubber mounted center bearing and guibo for short neck differential

Summary

The rotisserie can be loaded on to a flatbed trailer. A pick-up truck will be need for all the loose items. Most are packed in plastic bins. The engine stand is included with the sale. Seller can load car onto your trailer. A lot of extra gaskets and seals are included in the sale.
