Intro
This is a 1968 BMW 2002 in Black with Black vinyl interior and a 4-speed manual transmission. It shows approximately 88,881 miles and the seller completed about $8k in service under current ownership. This 2002 did have a repaint in the original factory color as well as the interior restored by the previous owner. It has a clear title and is in New Jersey.
Exterior
The exterior is Black. It has the 13″ steel wheels with BMW-branded covers wrapped in 185/70 Kumho tires. Stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums. The car was equipped from the factory with front and rear anti-roll bars. The seller states that the repaint presents very well but there is some bubbling in a few spots.
Interior
The cabin features aftermarket front bucket seats, and a rear bench trimmed in Black Skai vinyl. An AM/FM radio is housed in the center console, and the sale includes all weather floor mats. There are no cracks in the dash. This 2002 does not have air conditioning. Seller states the seats, the carpet, the trunk panels and some other very subtle changes were made during the restoration. All of which were done prior to current ownership.
Imperfections
The heater blower needs repair
Some bubbling in the paint
Mechanicals
The 2.0-liter M10 inline-four was factory rated at 100 horsepower and 116 lb.-ft of torque. The car runs strong, and the seller has service records. The seller has receipts only from all the work done under current ownership since 2019. The receipts total about $8k in maintenance to ensure a trouble-free driving experience. Photos of invoices included in the listing.
Seller Comments
1968 BMW 2002, current ownership since 2019 and garage kept. The car is fully sorted and ready to enjoy by the next owner. You really can’t help but smile the whole time you’re rolling through the gears of this iconic BMW classic. Roughly $8k or so in service and upgrades under current ownership. We have all the receipts. The interior is immaculate with a modern flare for comfort; the exterior was repainted at some point and is starting to show its age with a few bubbles in the paint but still shines like new. Super clean undercarriage and engine bay.
