Intro

This is 2003 BMW 540i M Sport Automatic in Titanium Silver with Grey Montana leather interior. The seller has owned the car since 2018 and completed extensive maintenance. It has the 4.4-liter M62 V8 paired with a five-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and seller states the vehicle was never driven in the winter. It has a clear title and is in Connecticut.


Exterior

The exterior is Titanium Silver with 18″ Style 37 M Parallel alloy wheels, xenon headlights, fog lights, a power sunroof, Shadowline trim as part of the M Sport package. Seller notes the tires have good tread but are developing some crazing on the outer edge. It has a rear trunk spoiler with chrome exhaust tip in the rear.


Interior

The interior is upholstered in Grey Montana leather with wood trim accents on the dashboard, door panels, and center console.  It has a CD stereo, folding rear seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, and driver-seat position memory. It has BMW carpeted floor mats, and a

multi-function leather-wrapped steering.  The seller added BlueBus for Bluetooth functionality from your phone to the stereo system and keeps all the steering wheel buttons active like original equipment. The seller also replaced the center console with a European storage unit.

 

Mechanicals

The 4.4-liter M62TUB44 V8 was factory rated at 282 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque.

completed all the major mechanical issues that have traditionally been associated with the model. Timing chains, guides, Vanos (rebuilt with Beisan seals). The torque converter and the valve body were rebuilt.

 

Summary

The seller notes one working key and one that only works mechanically. He replaced the battery key, but the rematch process did not work. The seller has all the receipts and kept a spread sheet of all the work completed under his ownership.
