Story Behind the Vehicle

Intro

This is a 1965 BMW 1800ti Sport in Polaris Silver over red and black interior. The car was manufactured June 14, 1965, and delivered to the US on July 13, 1965. The seller notes that the original color was Derby paint code 056. It was painted Polaris silver by the original owner. It has a clear title and is in California.


Exterior

The exterior is Polaris Silver with 14” steel wheels with BMW hub caps wrapped in new Nordica 165/70 R14 tires. It still has the original spare tire. The brakes were serviced with new master cylinder, rebuilt front brake calipers with new pads, front brake rotors turned, new rear brake drums with new shoes, new rear brake cylinders, new flex lines front and rear and new trailing arm hard brake lines. The seller notes a recent alignment was completed as well as new strut tower mount bushings and bearings, new inner and outer tie rods and new center link.


Interior

The interior is upholstered in red with black inserts and wood accent trim on the dashboard. The front seats have manual adjustment and windows have hand cranks.

 

Mechanicals

This 1800ti Sport has the M10 engine with a displacement of 1,773 cc. It produced 108 horsepower @ 5,800 rpm & torque 109 lb-ft @ 4,000 rpm mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Recent service and new parts include throttle bushings, spark plugs and wires, rebuilt original Bosch Alternator, new alternator bushings, alternator belt, voltage regulator, and battery with new negative cable. The radiator was inspected and flushed, upper and lower hoses replaced, new coolant, new clutch master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder, new clutch fluid flex hose, and new shifter bushings. The gas tank was removed, cleaned, and new lining applied along with new fuel hoses. The carburetors were cleaned and synchronized.


Imperfections

Horn doesn't work

Will need 4 new shocks

Original Solex 40PHH Carburetors will need to be rebuilt (throttle shafts are worn)

Brake booster has a vacuum leak

The fuel gauge does not work (needs a new sending unit)

The Oil pressure gauge works sometimes

Crack in the dash

Evidence of rust
