Intro

This is a four owner late model year 2001 Z3 Coupe in Hellrot Red over beige leather interior with a 2.8 Liter engine mated to a 5- speed manual transmission and showing 67k miles. It is extensively modified with a VF Engineering Supercharger installed about 6,000 miles ago. The Carfax shows no accidents and four owners, identifying the second as a dealer who added only 211 miles in a year. The seller has owned the car for about 7 years. It has a clear title and is in Michigan.

Exterior

The exterior is painted in Hellrot Red with 35% window tint, power operated moon roof and dual chrome exhaust outlets in the rear. The seller notes that the driver’s side door shows evidence of being repainted. All body panels still have the factory VIN stickers. The seller replaced driver window, window motor, and plastic slides. It has Konig Ultraflow wheels 17”x 8 front and 17”x 9 rear with Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires 222/45/17 front, 2015 production date, and 245/40/17 rear with 2016 production date. It has a limited slip differential.

2018 brake service includes replacing calipers, rotors, lines, pads, sensors, and fluid using ECS OEM ‘big’ brake kit. Front rotors are two-piece, 300mm x 22mm. Rear rotors are stock size. Hawk HPS pads front and rear with stainless lines all around. The Suspension has BC Racing coil-overs with front and rear mount reinforcements. It has K-MAC eccentric hardware and polyurethane bushings on rear trailing arms. New front control arms in 2020 along with Turner Motorsport 80A (softer) polyurethane bushings. Installed new inner and outer tie rod ends. Installed front Hotchkis and rear H&R sway bars with reinforcement tabs along with new endlinks. 

The seller changed the rear muffler, so it is slightly louder than stock. Installed rear differential from 2001 Z3 coupe with new automatic transmission fluid, 3.46:1 gear vs original 3.15:1 gear. Installed RevShift offset (camber correction) 80A polyurethane subframe bushings along with correct differential mounting hardware and polyurethane differential bushing and changed fluid. Reinforced differential mount. 

Interior

The interior is upholstered in beige leather with dark wood accents, heated and power adjustable sport seats, Harman Kardon Hi Fi System with 6-CD changer, Steering wheel from an E36 M3 and a ZHP shift knob. Headliner, A and C pillars recovered and replaced door handle gaskets

Mechanicals

This Z3 Coupe has the 2.8 Liter engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission modified with a with a VF Engineering Supercharger. According to the seller a compression/leak-down tests completed in April 2019 along with oil analysis (report available) showed the engine was healthy. Epic Motorsports reprogram the ECU to increase the rev limiter to 7,100 RPM to eliminate the secondary air pump need and eliminate the need for post catalytic converter O2 sensors. 

Recent service includes valve cover gasket replaced, brake fluid changed, ABS/ASC module refurbished, driver’s seat bushings replaced, new battery, new fuel filter and Engine oil and supercharger oil changed. Cooling system refresh: Radiator from ’01-’02 M Coupe, water pump, thermostat, hoses, ECS water pump pulley, Bimmerworld mechanical fan delete kit (lower temperature fan switch and water wetter), belts, tensioners, idler pulley and coolant and transmission fluid changed.
