I purchased the BMW in 1983 after selling my 1980 VW Scirocco "S". It was a Gray Market Vehicle with US bumpers and DOT glass. I was a photographer and did work for the US Hartge Distributor and acquired a selection of Hartge parts including the 16" wheels. I replaced the bumpers back to Euro-spec ones and drove until 1996 when I purchased a 1987 M6 and parked the 323i in the garage. In 2019 I purchased a Hartge Engine (170HP) which will go into this vehicle.
